    Meditation

Meditate towards a stress-free life!

Meditation is described as “thoughtless awareness”.  This is a state in which the excessive and stress-producing activity of the mind is neutralized, without reducing alertness and effectiveness. Meditation enables one to focus on the present moment rather than dwell on the unchangeable past or undetermined future. Listening to the birds and hearing them, is meditation, as long as your mind is free from any distraction.

For all the activity of modern society, many still feel a fundamental need for silence, inner peace, and a moment of reflection. Meditation helps to reduce stress by teaching us to switch off from the worries that can plague us throughout the day.

Mind Control

There is no doubt that the mind’s ability to analyse, plan and communicate, has helped us reach where we are today. Yet it can be a double-edged sword. We use our brain to reason, to think creatively and to communicate but we need to learn to ‘switch it off’ at times, or it can overwhelm us.

If we do not, we can become persecuted by fears of failure, inadequacy, unworthiness.· Meditation can bring relief from these anxieties by helping us to silence our negative chatterbox, to introduce positive thought patterns and to create feelings of peace and serenity.

When the mind goes silent, all thoughts of I am, disappear and Pure Awareness shines forth to illuminate what one is, was and always will be – infinite and beyond time.

Benefits

With lower levels of stress and anxiety, the probability of heart disease diminishes significantly. There is a growing awareness of the link between our state of mind and our physical health.

Meditation strengthens the communication between the brain’s prefrontal cortex and other areas of the brain, thus developing total brain function.· It reduces activation of the nervous system, which in turn dilates the blood vessels and reduces stress hormones.· Reducing harmful stress, improves cardiovascular health.

Meditation is a great contributor towards developing a healthy, creative, peaceful individual.
