Without forgiveness, there is no love. Forgiveness is the most essential key to happiness. Suffering remains until we forgive. True forgiveness is the recognition that because only love is real, whatever needs forgiving, exists only within the realm of illusion.
What Is Compassion?
Compassion literally means “to suffer together.” Among researchers, it is defined as the feeling that arises when you are confronted with another’s suffering and feel motivated to relieve that suffering. Compassion involves allowing ourselves to be moved by suffering and experiencing the motivation to help alleviate and prevent it.
Love
At the vibrational level of 500 hertz, love is unconditional, unchanging and permanent. Its source isn’t dependent on external factors. It is forgiving, nurturing, supporting. Love comes from the heart, not the mind and has the capacity to lift others and accomplish great feats because of its purity of motive. Love focuses on the goodness of life and that which is positive – it dissolves negativity by recontextualising it, rather than by attacking it. This is the level of true happiness – only 0.4 percent of the world’s population ever reaches this level. This is the level of true compassion – self-acceptance, acceptance of others, no judgement, no ego.
To experience love within ourselves and others, is the meaning of life.
Love in your mind produces love in your life – this is the meaning of heaven.
Fear in your mind produces fear in your life – this is the meaning of hell.
Einstein
A human being is part of a whole, called by us the “Universe,” a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings, as something separated from the rest — a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circles of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty.
Nelson Mandela
Our human compassion binds us the one to the other – not in pity or patronizingly, but as human beings who have learnt how to turn our common suffering into hope for the future.
There can be no keener revelation of a society’s soul than the way in which it treats its children.
Dalai Lama
Love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries. Without them, humanity cannot survive. Our prime purpose in this life is to help others. And if you can’t help them, at least don’t hurt them. Only the development of compassion and understanding for others can bring us the tranquility and happiness we all seek. Compassion is the wish to see others free from suffering.
Mahatma Gandhi
The simplest acts of kindness are by far more powerful than a thousand heads bowing in prayer. It ill becomes us to invoke in our daily prayers the blessings of God, the Compassionate, if we in turn will not practice elementary compassion toward our fellow creatures. The greatness of a nation can be judged by the way its animals are treated.
Jane Goodall
You cannot get through a single day without having an impact on the world around you. What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make.
Desmond Tutu
Caring and compassion will prevail over evil and injustice.
Oprah Winfrey
Extend yourself in kindness to other human beings wherever you can.
Carl Jung
One looks back with appreciation to the brilliant teachers, but with gratitude to those who touched our human feelings. The curriculum is so much necessary raw material, but warmth is the vital element for the growing plant and for the soul of the child.
Lady Gaga
I’ve been searching for ways to heal myself, and I’ve found that kindness is the best way.
Winston Churchill
We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give. We shall draw from the heart of suffering itself, the means of inspiration and survival.
Mother Theresa
Let us not use bombs and guns to overcome the world. Let us use love and compassion. Peace begins with a smile – smile five times a day at someone you don’t really want to smile at – do it for peace. So let us radiate peace…and extinguish in the world and in the hearts of all men, all hatred and love for power.
Barack Obama
Learning to stand in somebody else’s shoes, to see through their eyes, that’s how peace begins. And it’s up to you to make that happen. Empathy is a quality of character that can change the world.
Princess Diana
Carry out a random act of kindness, with no expectation of reward, safe in the knowledge that one day someone might do the same for you.

Love and kindness are never wasted. They always make a difference. They bless the one who receives them, and they bless you, the giver.
Mark Twain
Kindness is the language that the deaf can hear and the blind can see.

Compassion is at the heart of every little thing we do. It is the dearest quality we possess. Yet all too often it can be cast aside with consequences too tragic to speak of. To lose our compassion, we lose what it is to be human.

It is a lack of love for ourselves that inhibits our compassion toward others. If we make friends with ourselves, then there is no obstacle to opening our hearts and minds to others.
Let us all carry out an act of kindness today, not toward someone we love or care about, but toward someone with whom we don’t resonate well – they might be going through a hardship of which we are unaware.
