What Fear Does to Us
We have a lovely home, it has everything we need, to live in comfort. Then the doubt creeps in – what if there is a fire and then fear takes over, what if I am robbed, there might be a tornado, oh no, it is too dangerous to live in the house, I have to move. So we build a dark underground tunnel and we move in there, thinking we will be safe.
This is what we do to ourselves. We have everything we need, within us, but we don’t trust it, so we move into the dark tunnel – the ‘what if’ space. And we live in fear of what might go wrong. So we move from the safe space, because we have lost faith and trust. We no longer trust in our source energy, we no longer trust in ourselves or in the Universe.
The Psychological Toll
Constant fear and worry can lead to a range of psychological issues, such as anxiety disorders, depression, and chronic stress. The mind, bombarded by negative thoughts and apprehensions, struggles to find moments of peace. Persistent fear can impair decision-making abilities, disrupt sleep patterns, and erode self-confidence, making it challenging to lead a fulfilling life.
The Physical Consequences
The mind and body are intricately connected, and chronic fear and worry can manifest as various physical ailments. Elevated stress levels can weaken the immune system, making individuals more susceptible to illnesses. Long-term stress is associated with an increased risk of heart disease and high blood pressure. Additionally, constant worry can disrupt sleep, leading to fatigue, irritability, and impaired cognitive function.
Impact on Relationships
Fear and worry can strain relationships with family, friends, and romantic partners. Constant preoccupation with negative thoughts can lead to irritability and emotional distance, making it difficult to connect with others on an emotional level. Over time, this can erode trust and intimacy, further exacerbating feelings of isolation and loneliness.
Coping Mechanisms
Individuals experiencing constant fear and worry often resort to unhealthy coping mechanisms such as substance abuse, overeating, or social withdrawal. These behaviours provide temporary relief but exacerbate the underlying issues, creating a vicious cycle that is difficult and challenging to break.
Living under the shadow of constant fear and worry takes a severe toll on mental and physical health, as well as interpersonal relationships. Acknowledging these feelings and seeking appropriate help is the first step toward healing. By adopting healthy coping mechanisms and building a strong support system, individuals can break the cycle of fear and reclaim their lives, fostering resilience and emotional well-being. Remember, it’s okay to seek help, and there is hope for a brighter, more peaceful future beyond the confines of constant fear and worry.
Breaking the Cycle
Breaking free from the grip of constant fear and worry is essential for overall well-being. We know we have to do something different, to feel safe enough to come out of the tunnel, but we are at a loss as to what this is. First, we have to start changing our thoughts, because it is just thoughts keeping us afraid. Is this easy to do? No, because it has become our habitual way of thinking. We cling to fear out of habit. Is it doable? Yes! With courage, with determination and with intention.
Every thought we think generates a vibration; negative thoughts – negative vibration, positive thoughts – positive vibration. We carry this vibration in our energy field and it determines the quality of our life, because energy out equals energy in. So, if we want to improve the quality of our life, we have to improve the quality of our thoughts. Realise that it is just your fearful thoughts keeping you in the tunnel – the fear of what might go wrong.
True healing occurs when you give yourself permission to feel whatever feelings live below your triggers. Rather than ending the relationship, leaving the job, or otherwise avoiding the uncomfortable assignments, show up for them, fully and completely, by allowing yourself to feel all the pain, the anger, the fear.
Feeling the pain allows it to pass through you and strips away its power. Allowing yourself to feel the pain releases you from fearing it. Once you acknowledge the fear and pain, you can start healing it.
You are likely to notice a sense of peace set in, as you begin to feel and this unshackles you from the fear. The pathway to healing old wounds is through honouring yourself for all that you have been through, acknowledging the conditioning that you have been exposed to, and compassionately loving yourself back to a place of peace. Compassion is the antidote to anger, resentment and fear. Compassion gives you permission to let go and allow deep healing to begin.
The process of compassion begins with your self-talk. How would you speak to an innocent child needing comfort? Think about the loving words and kind gestures you would offer them. Then apply the same degree of love to yourself.
Once you have undergone the practice of compassionately loving yourself back into a safe space within, you are ready to ask for and to receive help from the Universe. Remember, the Universe will never give you anything that you cannot handle. No matter how difficult the situation might seem to you, you can find comfort in the fact that the Universe is always supporting what is of the greatest and highest good. By embracing the Universe as your support system, you are no longer relying solely on your own power to solve your problems.
Begin your new relationship with the Universe by asking for help with this beautiful prayer:-
